The Clifton Park Youth Hockey Association is dedicated to providing an exceptional Tier 1 USA hockey experience for players of all ages and skill levels.
Key Information About the Program
- Tryouts: Our season begins with tryouts in March\April.
- Practices: Practices typically begin in late September\early October.
- Home Rink: Our home rink is Capital Arena, located in Clifton Park.
- Practice Schedule: Teams typically practice 2-3 times per week, with schedules released in September.
- Game Schedule: Teams will play anywhere from 20-40 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
- Fees: A player will pay a tryout fee and then a registration fee if rostered on a team.
- Tuition: Team managers will collect 5 monthly tuition payments during the season.

Hockey Camps and Skill Development
The Clifton Park Youth Hockey Association offers a variety of camps designed to enhance players' skills at all levels. Here's a look at some of the camps available:
- Mite Mania Camp: This camp focuses on essential hockey skills, including proper body positioning, edge control, balance, and stride development for both forward and backward skating. Young players will also work on puck skills and shooting technique in a fun and supportive environment.
- Shooting Camp: This camp is designed to elevate players’ skills both on and off the ice. Campers will master shooting techniques, including wrist shots, snapshots, slap shots, and backhands, with a focus on generating velocity, accuracy, and creating deceptive angles.
- Bantam Transition Camp: This camp is specifically designed to prepare players for the transition into Bantam-level hockey, where body contact becomes an integral part of the game. Our comprehensive program focuses on developing essential skills such as angling, stick checking, body positioning, and safe body checking techniques.
- Battle Games Camp: This camp is designed for players of all ages to enhance their competitiveness and effectiveness in puck battles. Participants will engage in drills and games that emphasize puck protection, body positioning, and winning one-on-one confrontations.
- Girls Camp: This camp is designed exclusively for girls, led by an incredible team of female coaches, players, and counselors with experience at NCAA, ACHA, and junior levels. Campers will work on skating, shooting, stickhandling, and small-area games, focusing on individual growth and team play.
- Stickhandling/Scoring Camp: Campers will develop quick hands, deceptive moves, and the ability to protect the puck in tight spaces, along with advanced techniques to maintain control at high speeds.
- Tactical Power Skating Camp: This camp is designed to help players elevate their game by mastering essential skating and puck-handling techniques. Players will learn to maneuver their bodies to protect the puck while maintaining speed and control, creating opportunities to outsmart opponents in any game situation.
- Defense Camp: Campers will focus on the core skills every elite defenseman needs, including backward skating, gap control, angling, and defensive positioning.
- All Skills Camp: This camp is the perfect opportunity to sharpen every aspect of your game before the season begins. Throughout the camp, players will work on improving their stride, quickness, and edge work, while also refining puck control, shooting accuracy, and decision-making under pressure.
