Early Career and Development

Prior to turning professional, his junior career in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Victoria Salsa (and a partial season with the Burnaby Bulldogs) featured 121 games, 47 goals, 57 assists, 104 points, and 481 penalty minutes, highlighted by a BCHL championship in 2000-01 and strong playoff performances (30 games, 14 goals, 13 assists, 27 points, 85 penalty minutes).

On March 1, 2007, the Minnesota Wild traded a seventh-round draft pick in 2008 to the New Jersey Devils for Voros.

Voros scored his first NHL goal, as a member of the Wild, against Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks on November 16, 2007, in his birthplace and hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He would go on to score seven goals and seven assists in 55 games during his rookie season.

During the 2007-08 season, Voros established himself as a key enforcer and energy-line forward for the Wild, playing 55 games and contributing physicality to the team's bottom-six forward group. The Wild qualified for the playoffs as the seventh seed in the Western Conference, facing the Colorado Avalanche in the first round.

Known for showing up to training camp in top fitness, he took this attitude and delivered a great camp in Anaheim where he played for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL) in the 2010-2011 season.

10 games into the season Anaheim put Voros on short term injured reserve. On the day after coming off injured reserve, Voros suffered a broken orbital bone on December 8, 2010, in a game in Vancouver.
