Free On-Snow Experience
Brian Head Resort Winter Sports School
New for the 24-25 season, Brian Head Ski Resort offers a free on-snow program that is back by popular demand! The free on-snow program is open to first-time skiers and snowboarders ages 13 and older, providing essential skills and safety guidance to help newcomers build confidence on the slopes. It is designed for first-timers on the mountain. Register online before your visit to secure your free on-snow experience.
- Cost: FREE* A lift ticket and ski or snowboard equipment are required. A special $30 lift ticket is available for the Free On Snow Experience, which allows guests to ride the magic carpet lift and Pioneer Lift (chair 6).
- Ages: 13+ skiers & snowboarders
- Length: 2 hours
- Start Time: 10:30 AM Available on select dates. See On-Snow Experience Calendar for more specific dates.
- Where to Meet: Navajo Lodge Sports School check-in is located outside, on the right side of the Navajo Lodge when facing the main entrance
- When to Meet: 15 Minutes Before Experience Start Time. If renting equipment, please plan on an extra 30 minutes to 1 hour to get fitted and to get to the meeting place on time.
- Tickets & Passes: Lift required for the lesson. Pick up lift tickets at the ticket window before the lesson.
- Required Gear to Attend: Helmet, Skis/Snowboard & Lift Ticket
- Rentals: Rentals are not included in lessons.
The on-snow experience begins at 10 am on select days during the season. Register online at least 24 hours in advance to secure your spot in a class.

Note: The On-Snow Experience does not go beyond gentle terrain. If you are ready to go beyond that, enrolling in a lesson is recommended to further grow your skill sets.
Never Ever Lesson
New to skiing and snowboarding? This is the lesson for you! Learn the basics of skiing or snowboarding in this FREE 2-hour first-time beginner lesson with the purchase of a lift ticket. To book, select your lift ticket to purchase, then add the FREE never ever lesson.
- Cost: FREE + $10 reservation fee
- Ages: 13+ skiers & snowboarders
- Length: 2 hours
- Start Times: 10 AM & 1:00 PM Available on select dates.
- Who: For First-Timers On the Mountain. The program offers tailored instruction for first-time skiers and snowboarders - providing the opportunity to learn fundamental basics within a 2-hour group setting for accelerated skill acquisition and a deeper understanding. Ages 13+ only.
- Where to Meet: Beginner Area
- When to Meet: 10 Minutes Before Lesson Start Time. If renting equipment, please plan on an extra 30 minutes to 1 hour to get fitted and to get to the meeting place on time.
- Tickets & Passes: Valid lift required for the lesson. Load tickets before you arrive on your Sipapu Card
- Required Gear to Attend: Helmet, Skis/Snowboard & Lift Ticket
- Rentals: Rentals are not included in lessons. Lessons start at the base area.
Due to the popularity of this program, reservations must be made online. Day-of lessons will not be available for purchase upon arrival.
Lessons start on time, so please be ready at the check-in area in the beginner area no later than 10 minutes before your lesson start time.
Group Lessons
Group lessons are a great way to learn and enjoy the experience with others. Our ski lessons are conducted in a group setting, allowing participants to learn and enjoy the experience together with new faces. These are not private lessons, but rather a shared learning environment with other individuals.

- Ages: 7+
- Length: 2.5 hours. Group lessons lasting 6 hours are also available for children aged 12 and under.
- Start Times: 10 AM & 1:30 PM Afternoon lessons are ~25% discounted.
- Group lessons are best for kids who are ready and willing to learn, potty trained, and comfortable participating in a group setting. If your child needs extra support or a more personalized experience, we recommend private or adaptive lessons.
- Where to Meet: Navajo Lodge Sports School check-in is located inside upstairs within the winter sports school rental area.
- When to Meet: 15 Minutes Prior to Lesson Start Time. With valid lift ticket and ski/snowboard equipment. If renting equipment, please plan on an extra 30 minutes to 1 hour to get fitted and to get to the meeting place on time.
- Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate. You’ll be matched with other skiers or riders of a similar ability level.

Private Lessons
Private lessons offer express lift access, customized lessons for your skill level, and personalized feedback and guidance with the freedom to learn at a pace comfortable to you. Returning for another lesson or know an instructor? To book a lesson, please contact reservations to select your preferred time.
- Length: 2.5 hours
- Start Times: 10 AM & 1:30 PM Afternoon lessons are discounted. Night lessons are available starting at 4:30 PM.
- Group Size: Up to 6 people for a single private instructor
- Where to Meet: Navajo Lodge Sports School check-in is located inside upstairs within the winter sports school rental area.
- When to Meet: 15 Minutes Prior to Lesson Start Time. With valid lift ticket and ski/snowboard equipment. If renting equipment, please plan on an extra 30 minutes to 1 hour to get fitted and to get to the meeting place on time.
- Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate. You’ll be matched with other skiers or riders of a similar ability level.
Important Information for All Lessons
Here's some essential information to ensure you're prepared for your snowboard lesson:
- Advanced Reservations: Availability is limited. Advanced reservations and payment are required.
- Rentals: Rentals are not included in lesson price. Rentals are not included in your ski or snowboard lessons. Learn more about rentals here.
- Lift Ticket: A valid lift ticket is required to take a lesson. Lift tickets are not included in the lesson price.
- Skis or Snowboard: Fully Functional & properly fitting gear is necessary. Reserve rental equipment here.
- Helmets: Required for ages 12 & under, and highly recommended for all.
- Appropriate Clothing/Gear: May include warm layers, snow jacket, snow pants, neck gaiter, non-fleece mittens/gloves, goggles, and hand warmers.
All lessons begin promptly at their designated times. Check the Snow Report for updated road conditions before heading to the resort to plan accordingly by visiting UDOT Traffic.
Refund and Credit Policy
Within 48 hours of the ticket or lesson purchase, you are eligible for a 100% refund paid to the payment device used to purchase your lift or activity ticket, or bike rental. Tickets and rentals are not refundable or transferable on the date valid. Credit can be used for lift tickets, lessons, and rentals.

Credit amounts will be based on the ticket purchaser’s actual purchase price, less insurance, if applicable. If you use your credit on a ticket that is more expensive, you must pay the price difference between the credit and the new ticket. Credit can NOT be used for lodging, food, beverage, or resort merchandise. Eligible refunds will be paid to the original payment option used to create the original lesson reservation.
Important Reminders
The Resort does not guarantee parking, road conditions, weather conditions, snow conditions, open terrain, number of lift operating or facilities/services available. Inclement weather routinely affects daily operations and can cause delays and closures at any time.
