Breckenridge, Colorado, is a mountain town located at 9,600 feet and boasts hundreds of miles of trails that are great for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

Snowshoeing was most likely created by the Native Americans and Central Asians as a way to travel through deep snow by floating on top of it.
