The World of Professional Ice Skating

Ice skating is one of the most popular winter Olympic sports. The sport was first introduced in the 1908 Summer Olympic Games and moved to become part of the Winter Games in 1924. It was one of the first sports with a category for women and the only Winter Olympic sport with women competitors until 1936. Figure skating events include freestyle, pairs, ice dance and synchronized team skating. Ice dancing didn’t become an Olympic sport until 1976. Team figure skating is the newest Olympic skating event that first started in the 2014 Sochi Games. The United States has played a dominate role in Olympic figure skating over the years.

Creating a Portfolio

The optimum timing would be to send a portfolio to us six weeks prior to one of our shows performing in your area. That way, if a personal audition is required, we will have enough time to make arrangements. Should we have an opportunity to do a personal audition, we will contact you after receiving your portfolio to set up an audition when we’re performing in your area.

Video Submission Guidelines

The video should be three to six minutes in length and include an introduction of yourself prior to performing all elements - jumps, spins, footwork and combinations. It should also include recent exhibition numbers showing personality and performance skills. For the video, please wear appropriate skating attire. Clothes should properly allow you to perform all elements well as well as show style. Not loose or baggy clothing. On the video, please show the highest level of jumps that you do consistently. If you do not jump, please indicate this in your resume.

We are accepting submissions for all character look-alike roles. No. Although in casting we may be filling a position that requires a certain height. This number varies.
