Thomas College Field Hockey: A Legacy of Dedication and Success

The Thomas College field hockey program boasts a history of dedicated student-athletes committed to academic, athletic, and personal success. This commitment is reflected in their strategies and goals, fostering a culture of achievement.

A pivotal figure in the program's history is Thebarge, who joined the Thomas Athletic Department in 2008. Her roles included Head Field Hockey Coach, Assistant Athletic Director, and Senior Woman Administrator. From 2009 to 2010, Thebarge also served as the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach, showcasing her versatility and leadership.

Thebarge's background is deeply rooted in field hockey. A native of Skowhegan, Maine, she graduated from Northeastern University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in secondary education. During her time at Northeastern, she was a four-year starter on the field hockey team and participated in four NCAA Division I tournaments. Notably, the team reached the Final Four championship in both 1995 and 1996.

Thebarge's Coaching Career

Before her tenure at Thomas College, Thebarge served as an Assistant Field Hockey Coach at the University from 2002 to 2005 and held the position of interim head coach in 2006. Her coaching experience extends to the Buckingham Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she was the Head Field Hockey, Basketball, and Softball Coach from 2000 to 2002.

Thebarge's involvement in field hockey extends beyond collegiate and high school levels. She has been actively involved in the United States Field Hockey Association Futures program as both a player and coach. From 2001 to 2003, she served as the Regional Coaching Director of Massachusetts. Currently, she is the head coach of the Mid Maine Majestix field hockey club in Waterville, Maine, and also leads the Futures program in Maine.
