  • Location: Geographical location can make a difference when renting any kind of vehicle. For instance, renting a jet ski in New York would be different than renting a jet ski in North Carolina or even Texas. Every state has its own local markets, and that will factor into the price.
  • The Type Of Watercraft You’re Renting: The type of jet ski or sea-doo that you’re taking for a ride will certainly affect the price that you pay. Larger watercraft will naturally be a little more expensive. More powerful watercraft will also add to the price.
  • Timing: Depending on the time of year or even the week that you rent the jet ski, the prices could change. Don’t be surprised to find that it’s slightly more pricey to rent a jet ski on the weekend, for instance, than it would be on a Tuesday.

Jet Ski Brands

Each are types of PWC's or Personal Watercrafts. JetSki is the trademarked name for Kawasaki's line of PWC's. WaveRunner is the trademarked name for Yamaha's line of PWC's. SeaDoo is the trademarked name for Bombardier's line of PWC's. Some people commonly think of "Jet Skis" as the stand up type of PWC, and the WaveRunner as the sit down type. This is not true. Rental Requirements and Safety

Florida boating laws require anyone born after January 1, 1988 to have a Florida’s boater’s safety license in order to operate a Jet Ski or pontoon boat. New Jersey State Law states that PWC rental business (that's us) must not rent to anyone under the age of 18 years. Children must be 44" or taller typically 6yrs old to be a passenger on a ski. A parent or guardian must fill out a waiver. No pregnant person is allowed to jet ski.

Prior to your adventure, you will be given a safety briefing on the State and Local personal watercraft regulations by a USCG licensed captain. You also will be instructed on the safe operation of your Jet Ski so you will be fully informed about your rental! Then you will be escorted out to East Coast's large, safe riding area, and your boundaries will be identified for your safety.

Our On-water guide (escort) will go over the "rules of the water", including safety information and familiarizing you with the equipment and how it works before you hit the water. We provide an On-water guide that will be on hand to assist with any assistance that you may need, they will also let you know when it's time to come back in. Our guide is there for your safety. He's there (on his own ski) to lead you through any of the speed restricted safety zones (NO WAKE ZONES), he'll even point out some local points of interest as you are led to the area where the serious play begins. Once there our guide will be on hand to provide any assistance that you may need. There is no additional charge, it's all part of the top level service.

Jet skis can reach high speeds inside of the ride zone. However, during your guided ride, our guides will ensure that you operate the jet ski at safe and appropriate speeds for the conditions and your experience level. It is not recommended during the ride due to the high traffic of other riders in the zone. Instead, we provide designated areas for breaks and photo opportunities to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment. Our guides will point out these areas during the safety briefing before your ride.

Rental Policies and Deposits

East Coast Jetski adventure does not begin until you physically leave our docks heading out for the water! This is part of the Damage Waiver Agreement that you will need to fill out and sign when you rent ski from us. That's what the deposit is for, at that time one of our managers will walk you through the process.

Power Up Watersports requires a $300 hold by credit card for each jet ski rented. A $500 per watercraft deposit is required for each rental. This deposit is done with a credit card prior to your rental. All rentals need a deposit. NO EXCEPTIONS!

If damage occurs and machine cannot be rented until repairs are made, you will lose the entire deposit. Examples of a $500 fee are a large hole or crack in machine allowing water to enter hull, damage to rear jet from rear ending another jet ski or driving outside of marked riding area which causes damage to the impellor. If minor damage occurs to rub rail or bumpers or you cause small scratches or knicks to the machine, then you will be refunded only half of your deposit for a charge of $250 for the repairs. This is the deductible to replace the ski. You will be required to have a major credit card to be placed on file while renting the PWC.

Your deposit will be held until the actual cost of the repairs has been determined. Commonly it takes a few days to have the unit taken to a the repair shop, at that time the cost of the repairs will be determined, a repair order listing what repairs and parts are needed is written up.

Additional Considerations

Here are some additional points to consider when renting a jet ski:

  • Capacity and Weight Limits: With our Jet Skis, we can accommodate up to 3 passengers* or a maximum weight of 450 lbs. Each WaveRunner is sized for three people, or 500 pounds maximum. It is more enjoyable to only have 2 adults at a time.
  • Speed: Our jet skis can reach speeds 50 mph+. At East Coast Jet Ski, the skis we rent are capable of going over 55 miles per hour, and on the water - that's fast!
  • Fuel: Your rides are fueled and ready by the appointed time. Fuel is NOT included in rental prices. Boats are sent out full of fuel and renters are charged for fuel usage consumed during the rental time.
  • Alcohol and Drugs: We reserve the right to deny rental without refund to any person or persons suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We have a zero tolerance for the use of alcohol or drugs while renting our equipment.
