Maxwell "Max" McCormick, born on May 1, 1992, is an American professional ice hockey forward. Currently, he serves as the captain of the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the American Hockey League (AHL), while under contract with the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Early Life and Career
McCormick spent his formative years in the Green Bay area with his younger brother, Sam. He honed his skills playing high school hockey for Notre Dame Academy before transitioning to the Sioux City Musketeers in the United States Hockey League.
NHL Draft and Collegiate Career
In the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, McCormick was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the sixth round. Following his draft, he committed to a collegiate career, attending Ohio State University for three years.
Professional Career
McCormick embarked on his professional journey in 2014 with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL).

The Ottawa Senators signed forward Max McCormick to an entry-level contract on May 28, 2014.

Colorado Avalanche
On February 6, 2019, McCormick was traded to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for J.C. Beaudin.
Carolina Hurricanes
McCormick then signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on July 25, 2019. In the subsequent 2019-20 season, after recovering from an injury, McCormick was assigned to the Charlotte Checkers, Carolina's AHL affiliate. The Carolina Hurricanes then signed Max McCormick to a one-year contract on October 28, 2020.
