Snow Conditions and Winter Activities in British Columbia

Apart from Alberta, the neighboring British Columbia is the most important skiing region in Canada. Four mountain ranges of the Canadian Rocky Mountains run through the province. The highest peak would be Mount Fairweather with a height of 4.663 meters (15298.5 ft). It snows in Revelstoke, a LOT.

The daily snow report is taken at the Summit weather plot at 1950m. The Summit weather plot gets cleared daily at 3:30pm. New snow data is reset at 3:30pm everyday after the lifts close.

Weather Forecast

An Arctic ridge of high pressure over the area will bring sunny but very cold conditions to the resort today. After a clear, cold night, the ridge will weaken and begin to drift east on Sunday. This will allow a westerly flow aloft to spread some cloud cover, along with moderating temperatures, over the resort by Sunday afternoon. Gusty winds in the alpine this morning should ease to light by this afternoon.

Monday to Wednesday: The moderating trend, which begins Sunday, will continue through the outlook period as a westerly flow aloft brings milder, patchy moist Pacific air across southern BC. There will be a chance of snow, although amounts will be minimal as the main Pacific storm track will be pointed towards northern BC.

Ski Resorts in British Columbia

Whistler Blackcomb is internationally famous ever since the Winter Olympic Games in 2010. This enormous skiing region has more than 200 slopes at your disposal and therefore counts as one of the largest ski resorts in the world.
