AirBlaster Freedom Suit: A Comprehensive Review for Women Snowboarders

The AirBlaster Freedom Suit has garnered attention for its unique blend of retro aesthetics, practicality, and robust construction. This review delves into the details of this one-piece snowboard suit, exploring its features, fit, and overall performance on the slopes.

Great review - really intrigued by AirBlaster stuff - looks bomber, practical, and, best of all, retro.

AirBlaster Freedom Suit

We did a retro-day last year and I donned an ancient Descente one-piece. It was a very cold day but I quickly overheated. The suit was OLD, and therefore not vented, but the message I got is that onesies are damn warm.

One of the primary concerns with one-piece suits is the potential for overheating. Older models often lacked adequate ventilation, leading to discomfort. However, modern designs like the AirBlaster Freedom Suit incorporate venting systems to regulate temperature effectively.

Fit and Style Considerations

The fit of a snowboard onesie is crucial for both comfort and performance. Some users have noted that without a belt or cinched waist, the suit can feel like saggy pants, with excess fabric bunching up at the cuffs.

Without a belt, AKA cinched waist it will be like wearing saggy pants without the pants. Just looked at the review photo, totally like saggy pants hanging down past the drop zone and bunched up at the cuffs.

I think mine is baggy bc its an extra large, because thats all they had left when i ordered, ...

Not that baggy in the review at all. Doesn’t look look an airplane mechanic.

Additional Gear and Layering

When considering a snowboard onesie, it's essential to think about layering. The appropriate base layers and accessories can significantly impact your comfort level in varying conditions.

Snowboard Layering System

If you see anyone wearing a ~2012 Salomon Conspiracy - they're probably wearing a baselayer and fleece armwarmers under it. Oh and socks, probably socks.

Here's a simple table to help you decide on layering:

Weather Condition Base Layer Mid Layer Outer Layer
Mild Lightweight None AirBlaster Freedom Suit
Cold Midweight Fleece or Insulated Vest AirBlaster Freedom Suit
Very Cold Heavyweight Fleece and Insulated Jacket AirBlaster Freedom Suit
