Vail Health's Emergency Department (ED) is a 24-hour Level III Trauma Center staffed by board-certified physicians. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The ED is equipped and prepared to handle critical medical situations for patients of all ages.

Emergency trauma care is available to infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults of all ages. Our highly trained staff is qualified to care for medical emergencies and stabilization of critical patients with full resuscitation capabilities. Walk-in patients are treated promptly and efficiently.

Accessing the Emergency Department

Located at 180 South Frontage Road West, patients and visitors of Colorado Mountain Medical will need to locate elevator "E". Whether you self-park in the parking structure or utilize the complimentary valet parking at the front main entrance of the hospital, this elevator can be found on the opposite side of the main doors from the parking structure or just past the Emergency Department.

Colorado Mountain Medical offers urgent care in four convenient locations as an affordable alternative to the emergency department for non-life threatening medical issues such as acute injury or illness. Urgent Care clinics are a great resource if your primary doctor is not available.

This is offered through our Avon Urgent Care location.
