Scenic Off-Roading Near Winter Park
Old mining roads and railroad grades make for scenic off-roading and also access exciting ATV trails. Established trails will take you to elevations of over 12,000 feet in elevation, be sure to take your camera. Days of riding await on Rollins Pass and Byers Peak, both spitting distance from Winter Park village.
Two excellent 4-wheel drive roads are located right outside Winter Park village, both of which link up to more difficult trails. The nearby town of Empire also has excellent off-roading.

- Rollins Pass: Just outside Winter Park, this scenic 28-mile drive follows an old railroad grade and links to the more intimidating Boulder Wagon Road and gnarly Broken Thumb Trail. SUVs allowed on main road.
- Byers Peak: Right outside Winter Park, fourteen mellow miles reach some great ATV trails.
- Jones Pass: Starting in nearby Empire, expect snow well into summer on this narrow and steep 12,453-foot pass with commanding 360-degree views. SUVs allowed on main road.

Grand Adventures: Continental Divide Tour
Explore the vast terrain in Winter Park’s Arapahoe National Forest with our Continental Divide Tour. We depart from our convenient location in Winter Park and ride 15 miles up the historic Corona Pass road to the Continental Divide and Corona Pass at nearly 12,000ft in elevation. You will drive your own machine on the tour while following one of our qualified guides.
This trip includes breathtaking panoramic views of the Continental Divide, Rocky Mountains, and Fraser Valley. We will pass by the historic railroad train trestle that used to operate as a 23 mile long railroad over Rollins Pass. This trip is perfect for families and adventurers alike.
You are responsible for all damage that occurs to your machine while on tour, no exceptions. A damage deposit for your machine is required. All off-road trips are operated by Darou Ventures, LLC dba Grand Adventures.
