Model 1648
When you go out snowmobiling, make sure you have a trailer that can get you there and back again. The Featherlite Model 1648 snowmobile trailer boasts a rear ramp that features a cable assist and drip rail to minimize the inconvenience of melting snow. The front of the trailer also features a front ramp to make loading and unloading easier and is designed with a front radius nose.
The Model 1648 is available in lengths from 12′ to 24′.

Model 1610V
The “v” in Model 1610V stands for both v-nose and versatility! Available in lengths from 12′ to 24′, the trailer’s v-nose design makes for greater aerodynamics during towing and allows room for a 50” wide front ramp for easier unloading of all your “toys” including your snowmobiles!
Various options are available with your snowmobile trailer including smooth extruded aluminum floor, overhead cabinets, surface mount tie downs and an array of colors.
We tested a 24-foot Featherlite 1610V inline trailer last winter and enjoyed its easy towability, quality construction and premium features. Wheels are outside the walls for a low ride height, and the trailer is a few feet longer; rather than haul two pairs of sleds side by side, machines are staggered.
Our 1610V was a nicely appointed hauler outfitted with quality running gear. Doors were held shut with sturdy, lockable latches that made a positive “clunk” to prove they were latched. The mechanism operated smoothly no matter how cold the weather, but a couple of the rubber caps that cover the keyholes fell off, leaving the intricate part exposed to road spray.
Recessed, rubber-wrapped toggle switches at the front and rear of the trailer’s exterior provided easy access to operate the halogen loading lights without having to step over sleds or luggage inside. The trailer went down the road without swaying or bouncing, and the number of snowmobiles inside didn’t seem to affect how it tracked.

267 Featherlite Snowmobile Trailer
The only significant quirk of the 1610V is its front door and 50-inch opening; we found it too narrow to easily unload sleds. Rather than simply steer the sled out the door, we had to approach the opening, drive about half-way down the ramp, jump off the sled and slide the rear end toward the opposite wall and then drive out. Other enclosed trailers we’ve tested allowed us to drive out the door in a fluid motion.
Our Featherlite demo billed out at $19,937.
Key Features
- All-Aluminum Construction: With just routine maintenance, Featherlite's durable aluminum construction has higher resistance to rust and corrosion. It’s also lighter weight, increasing your payload capacity and making for a smoother tow.
- Pierce & Roll Roof System: Featherlite's exclusive pierce & roll roof system drives high strength rivets into the aluminum, but no hole fully pierces the roof’s skin. Instead a secure, water-resistant crown forms up and around the bottom of every rivet, reducing opportunities for water leakage.
- Aluminum Wheels: Stylish aluminum wheels allow your trailer to retain its factory appearance longer and help your Featherlite trailer retain its value over the long haul. In lieu of silver aluminum wheels, you may opt for stylish black aluminum wheels.
- E-Z Lube Axles: E-Z Lube axles make bearing lubrication quick and easy with an E-Z Lube cap that allows for easy access, extra protection and virtually no mess.
- LED Lights: Sealed LED lights are brighter and provide more visibility to others when traveling with your trailer. Plus, they traditionally last longer than conventional lights. In addition, most models feature dual wraparound LED lights. Add a LED load light to your trailer for more light when loading or unloading at night.
- Wiring Harness: The Featherlite wiring harness bundles all wires in a protective jacket, providing a watertight seal and protecting against wire wear and tear. It also makes connecting them to your vehicle easier.
- Roof Rail: You’ll find a sturdy 2" radius aluminum roof rail on Featherlite’s enclosed ATV trailers and motorcycle trailers. A 4" roof rail is standard on our Model 1648 snowmobile trailer.
PerfectFit System
In addition to our standard trailers, the PerfectFit System allows you to customize select trailers with a mix of optional accessories. Your Featherlite dealer will help you design your perfect trailer your way.
