Staff Sgt. Robert Pirelli Veteran’s Memorial Skating Arena
The Staff Sgt. Robert Pirelli Veteran’s Memorial Skating Arena is a Commonwealth of Massachusetts public ice skating facility, overseen by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). The arena was completed in 1973, opened to the public on June 2, 1973. FMC Ice Sports has been operating the arena for DCR since 1992. All FMC Ice Rinks strive to be a place for fun and personal development for skaters of all ages and abilities.
The Staff Sgt. Robert Pirelli Veteran’s Memorial Skating Arena was rededicated to honor the memory of the fallen Medal of Valor recipient and former Franklin Panther.

The Edge Ice Arenas
735 E. $15/admission; $10/person kids 12 and under during the Sunday Family Skate Special. Public skate usually happens on Fridays and Sundays. Check their daily calendar for available days and hours.

Seven Bridges Ice Arena
6690 S. $15/admission. Not currently offering public skate, but they do offer hockey leagues, private rentals, and skating lesson times. Friday night public skate is cancelled until further notice. They offer figure skating, hockey leagues and skating lessons.
Elmhurst YMCA
211 W. Admission to the rink is $7; spectators are free. Skate rental is $3, and skate sharpening is $5.
Central Athletic Complex
500 S. Admission is $1 for residents and $5 for non-residents. Reservations required.
Outdoor Rinks

Bloomingdale Park District displays a green or red flag at the rink to let everyone know if it’s open or closed. Check the rainout line page for ice rink status. Hockey and broomball play is allowed only at the two boarded rinks at Centennial Park. A third rink at Centennial Park is for free skating only. Use of the rink is divided during the day between free skate and hockey use.
Parkway Bank Park’s Chicago Wolves Ice Rink in Rosemont
Celebrate the magic of the holiday season with outdoor ice skating at Parkway Bank Park’s Chicago Wolves Ice Rink in Rosemont, November 22 through January 25, 2026! Admission is free and guests are invited to bring their own skates or rent on-site for only $8. Parkway Bank Park also lights up after dark full of Christmas lights.

Tickets are $17-$23 and include skate rental. Ice skating, ice bumper cars, curling, and more in the heart of Wrigleyville.

New this year! An outdoor ice skating rink was added to Block 59 in Naperville and the indoor Rosemont Ice Arena was recently completed.
