The Pavilion ice season runs late October - early April. During the non-ice season, you can rent the entire facility or a portion for your private function or community event. The 2026 non-ice season runs from mid April - late September.
For roller skating opportunities, The Pavilion offers a regular schedule of Open Skate, Friday Night Roller Dancing, Saturday Night Adult Roller Jam and Family Skate sessions for roller skating, in-line skating, skateboarding and scootering.
Yes, you can drop-in for skating sessions without a reservation.
Rental skates available - toddler through adult size 15 are available. Ice/roller skate rental: $4.00.

Types of Skating Sessions
Open Skate
Recreational skating for all ages and abilities. Regular fees apply.
Children under age 10 must be accompanied in the facility at all times by an adult or responsible person 16 years or older unless participating in an instructor-led program.

Hockey, speed skating and advanced figure skating not allowed.
During normally lower attendance times, activities may include basic skating and/or laps on the outside perimeter and basic figure skating/ice dancing/freestyle on the inside. Check online schedules before coming so you know what to expect.
Family Skate
Open skate for families for only $8/person including skate rental. All children must be accompanied by parent/guardian.
Not available on select days.
Mid-April through September, The Pavilion skatepark features will be included during Open Skate, With A Child Skate & Play and Sunday Family Skate times.

Cheap Skates

With A Child Skate
Special discounted Open Skate session for adults to skate with their child, up to age 18. Fee is $8 per person including skate rental when adult accompanies children. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adult and children groups such as homeschool groups or young children play groups are welcome. For ages 5 and under, there is skate instructor support available for a positive experience. Use your Fitness, Swim & Skate Pass or $8 per person when adult accompanies paid children. Under 3 free. Come skating for a great price!
With A Child Skate & Play time includes roller skating and open play space (with mats and balls) for toddler and preschool-age children. This discounted time is on the roller rink and designated for you and your toddler to play. Roller skating for only $7/person (all ages) including skate rental.

Fees and Passes
Fees effective beginning October 20, 2025:
- $8 youth (age 3-18)
- $9 older adult (age 65+)
- $10 adult (age 19-64)
- $8 per person, all ages.
- $8 per person, ages 5 and under with adult.
- $8 per person, all ages when adult accompanies child.
Large Groups - 10 or more: School groups and other large groups are welcome at The Pavilion and discounts are available. Reservations are needed for groups of 10 or more. Reservations must be booked 72 hours in advance for special rates.
Out-of-District Fee Policy: Residents who live outside of the Bend Park and Recreation District are encouraged to participate in all facilities and programs. Out-of-district residents do not pay property taxes that support the district and will be charged an additional 20% for programs and facility passes (drop-ins do not apply). Get a pass that matches your needs! BPRD’s 10-visit, auto-renewal, 30-day, 3-month and annual Fitness, Swim & Skate Passes can be used for public roller and ice skating session access in addition to fitness and swim sessions at Juniper Swim & Fitness Center and Larkspur Community Center. Skate rentals are not included.
Weekly Family Skate, With A Child Skate and “Cheap Skates” sessions are discounted per person and include skate rentals.

Safety Guidelines and Rules
Skaters must keep moving. No horseplay while on the rink. Jumps and spins allowed only at center rink (inside blue circle) unless crowd size poses a safety issue. No one is allowed on the rink during resurfacing.
No food or drink on the ice.
Games of tag, chase, are not allowed on the ice.
ADA accommodations: ADA skate helpers for those with disabilities are available upon request. Please visit the skate rental counter.
Children 6 years and under must be supervised by a responsible person 14 years or older. Sticks, pucks and maneuvers that would endanger others are not allowed.
Helmets Encouraged
The Pavilion encourages all skaters to wear a helmet while on skating, especially children. Helmets are available to borrow or you may bring your own.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that ice skaters use hockey, bicycle, ski or skateboard helmets. If you want to follow that recommendation, it may be best to look for a helmet certified to the ASTM Skateboard standard, F 1492, or even dual certified to the skateboard and bicycle helmet standards.
We recommend skaters bring their own helmets! We do not provide helmets or skating aids.
Helmets and skate assists are available to use. The Pavilion encourages all skaters to wear a helmet while on skating, especially children. If you have one, please bring your own helmet.
Skatepark Information
The skatepark is open during designated Open Skate & Skatepark sessions and closed all other times. Helmets, shoes and shirts are required at all times in the skatepark. Inspect the surfaces before riding and remove any objects or debris that may prevent a smooth and safe ride. Be aware of other users and what is happening around you. Wait your turn to drop in. No food or drinks in the skate area.
Parties and Rentals

Party reservations can be made from a minimum of 72 hours in advance.
Sorry, no walk-in or non-reserved parties available.
Indoor Party Room Rental:
- $180.00 in-district / $216.00 out-of-district including up to 10 skaters for 1.5 hour block and up to 10 skaters.
- $9.00 per skater over 10 skaters. Sept. Includes skating for up to 25 people, additional guests are $9.00/skater.
- Skate rentals included. Spectators/chaperones are welcome.
- With rental, you are welcome to bring outside food.
Sorry, “walk-in” or non-reserved parties are not allowed at BPRD recreation facilities. Our facilities and staff are not equipped to adequately handle parties that are not reserved with us and it can negatively impact other patrons’ experiences. Therefore, no party items are allowed when you participate in a recreation session (no cake, balloons, gifts, etc.). You are welcome to attend a public skate session with your group and then depart to a park or elsewhere for cake, gifts, etc.
Additional Programs and Information
Learn a new sport or develop your skills in curling, hockey or ice skating with classes designed for every ability and skill level. The Pavilion offers instructional level classes, practice times and competitive skills & drills workshops.
Open Sessions are open to general public, but skating routine practice and coaching is allowed.
Rock the Ice. Open to curlers of all experience (or inexperience) levels, our leagues give players the chance to learn and hone their skills. Games are played once a week and all equipment is provided. Please call if you have any questions or need more information (541) 389-7588.
Each student is invited to attend the public skating session before class, at no added charge. This extra ice time will aid in the development of skating skills! You must check in at the Admissions Desk before entering public session and before each class!
