Darex Family Ice Rink in Ashland, OR, offers a unique recreational experience for residents and visitors alike, set against the backdrop of the charming downtown area and the scenic beauty of Lithia Park. The outdoor rink, an operation of APRC, is located at 95 Winburn Way, across from the Lithia Park playground, around the corner from the Plaza, and at the corner of Nutley Street and Winburn Way.

Admission and Rental Rates

Here’s a breakdown of the admission and rental costs:

  • Youth Admission (Ages 5 and under): Free
  • Youth Admission (Ages 6-13 years): $4
  • Adult Admission: $5
  • Skate Rentals: $3/pair

Programs and Activities

The rink offers a variety of programs to cater to different interests and skill levels:

  • Rec Skate: This is an ideal time for skaters of all ages to enjoy recreational ice skating time. Regular admission rates apply and skate rentals are available. Hockey and figure skating is not permitted during Rec Skate sessions.
  • Cheap Skate: Come and enjoy a Rec Skate session with discounted rental skates! Skaters with their own skates pay regular admission.
  • Adult Hockey Skate: Hockey players age 16 and up can organize "pick-up" games and practice skills. Equipment is not provided.
  • Private Skating Lessons: Pre-registration is required. Please call 541.552.2258 after to schedule private instruction for all ages and skill levels. In order to provide access to lessons for as many students as possible we ask that registration for each skater is limited to only a Monday or Wednesday Session.
  • Free Open/Hockey Skate: The rink will be open for skaters to enjoy the rink at no charge. Staff is not on site and skate rentals are not available. The rink may close intermittently based on weather conditions and maintenance needs.

Please note: The rink was unable to provide School Field Trip Programs and Team Youth Hockey for the 2022-2023 Ice Skating Season due to staffing shortages.

Concessions

Concessions are provided by the Lions Club of Ashland Friday through Sunday during Rec Skate times for the remainder of the 2022-2023 Ice Rink Season. Please be sure to bring along snacks and beverages for non-weekend rec skating sessions. Remember, food and beverages are not permitted on the ice surface. Benches are available outside the rink, where you can take a break and eat a snack.

General Information

Bring the whole family! Our skate rentals accommodate toddler size 9-up to men’s size 15. Arrive ready to skate.

Typically, air temperatures of less than 53 degrees are ideal for the ice rink. Typically the rink closes after Presidents Day, Feb. Full attendance numbers are difficult to calculate since the ice rink features times for free skating for those who bring their own skates. Also, there are parents who don’t skate but watch their kids.
