Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena, owned and operated by Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, is where kids of all ages have grown up.
This NHL, regulation-size rink is an active space that’s known for birthday parties, family reunions, fundraisers, Skate with Santa, broomball, ice hockey, figure skating, and much, much more!
Public Skate Sessions
Public sessions are traditionally two hours long.
Depending upon the number of skaters, our sessions may include a brief break midway through the session.
During this time, staff will ask skaters to clear the ice, while an ice-cut takes place.

We monitor the ice for all sessions however, a skate guard may not always be on duty, especially during our smaller, weekday sessions.
As always, skaters participate at their own risk.
Please pay for the public session BEFORE going onto the ice. Each skater will receive a sticker, and the sticker must be visibly displayed on each skater at all times. If you choose not to adhere to this rule, you will be asked to leave the ice.
We kindly ask all guests to pay with our online link before coming to the rink. Otherwise, they will be asked to scan the QR code at the rink. Please check in at the Front Desk upon arrival. Thank you!

What to Wear:
- Helmets - A bike helmet or HECC-approved helmet is highly recommended.
- Warm Clothing - The rink is cold! Wear long sleeves and pants, gloves/mittens, and layered, comfortable clothing that allows for movement.
Gloves and helmets are not required, but strongly recommended! Dress warm as it does get cold in the rink. The colder it is outside, the colder it is inside the rink! Gloves are available for purchase at the Front Desk. Please wear/bring tall socks as we do not have them available.
Be prepared to fall. Don’t be afraid of it. You’re going to learn.
Adaptive Skating Equipment
FMC offers adaptive skating equipment, allowing everyone to join in on the fun. Ice sleds and walkers are available in many of our rinks. Contact the rink beforehand to find out about the best times to skate.
Walkers are available for use, first come, first serve, but only to be used if you need them. They are not to be used for any other use, other than their intended and proper use. If you are using it for any other purpose, it will be taken away. Please allow those skaters who need them, the chance to use them.
The arena does have a limited quantity of skate helpers available for rental as well on a first-come, first-serve basis. The rental charge for the skate helper covers the duration of the public skate session. There are no refunds or partial refunds if a skate helper is only used for a portion of the session.

Management reserves the right to restrict the use of skate helpers during busy public sessions.
Freestyle Skate Sessions
Freestyle Sessions are designed for coaches training figure skaters skating at the freestyle level or above as defined by the United States Figure Skating Association.
Freestyle sessions are not for beginner skaters and unlike Public Sessions, are not open to the general public. You must provide your skates and be proficient in at least the Free Skate 1 USFS level. All skaters using these sessions must understand the patterns used on the ice.
Figure skaters may work on moves-in-the-field, ice dancing, jumps, and spins as well as their routines with music.
Baltimore City Recreation & Parks intend to provide competitive figure skaters a safe and productive environment to practice their skills and routines through these freestyle sessions.
This card does expire every June 30th.
