Mercer Snowmobile Club Trail Conditions: Your Guide to Riding in Iron County, Wisconsin

The Mercer Area Sno-Goers is a volunteer snowmobile club located in Iron County, Wisconsin, which is widely known to host the best snowmobile trails in the state. Established in 1967, it is one of the first organized clubs of its time. With over 150 miles of maintained and groomed trails in the southern part of Iron County, the club boasts a membership exceeding 900, supported by 100 commercial sponsorships.

Current Trail Status and Conditions

Here's the latest on trail conditions from the Mercer Snowmobile Club:

  • Trail 12: Open from 13 to 12B intersection/Groomed.
  • Overall Condition: Trails are overall in fair-good condition.
  • Swamp Areas: Partially Groomed = Wet Swamps, no access with Tractors yet.

The warm weather definitely made things rough and unable to groom during the day. Night grooming and early morning is still taking place.

These trails are especially difficult as they are mostly swamp, and the trees and brush from the storm that have fallen have made things incredibly difficult to navigate.
