Centene Community Ice Center: Your Guide to Public Skating and More

Located in the heart of the Maryland Park Lake District in Maryland Heights, the Centene Community Ice Center is an $83 million project funded through a public-private partnership with support from the City of Maryland Heights, St. Louis County and the State of Missouri. The primary tenants and major capital partners of the Centene Community Ice Center include the St. Louis Blues, the St. Louis Blues Alumni, Lindenwood University, the St. Louis Blues AAA program, and the St. Louis Lady Cyclones.

Public Skating Sessions

Public skating sessions are open to individuals of all ages and levels. We offer daytime, evening, and weekend open skate sessions. Skate Rentals are available for a fee.

Pre-registration is encouraged but not required for Public Skate sessions.

A Punch Pass provides 10 admissions into a Public Skate session at a discounted cost. These are great for skaters who regularly attend Public Skate sessions!

Stick & Puck Sessions

Additionally, we offer Youth Stick & Puck times for players age 8 and under only to enjoy time on the ice without the hustle of big kids/adults. 8U Stick & Puck is for younger hockey players, age 8 and under only, to enjoy shootaround time on the ice without the hustle of big kids/adults around them. They must be supervised by a legal guardian.

Pre-registration is encouraged but not required for Stick & Puck sessions.

Coaches: Yes, coaches are welcome to join their player(s) during Stick & Puck sessions and private instruction is allowed.

Contact: No, checking or unnecessary physical contact is strictly prohibited during Stick & Puck sessions.

We do our best to keep Stick & Puck sessions on the calendar where available. During hockey season months, our ice availability becomes very limited and impacts how much we can schedule ice time for public sessions like Stick & Puck.

Hockey Programs

The Centene Community Ice Center offers various hockey programs for kids and adults just starting out or been playing for years both men’s and women’s. Learn the game of hockey from professional instructors. Each practice plan is designed by certified USA Hockey coaches who are dedicated to the success of player development. Basic skating skills are required for this program designed for ages 10 - 16.

Classes are available for all ages and abilities - no experience required! The Centene Community Ice Center offers both weekday and weekend group lesson times. Lessons include lesson and practice time.

Absolutely, we love birthdays at the rink! Make your birthday the coolest by celebrating at the Centene Community Ice Center. Take the hassle out of planning your party and come celebrate your birthday with us. Enjoy your own private party area and let us worry about the food, fun, and clean-up. We offer a few party packages that include Public Skate admission plus skate rentals, food and drink, and a private party room.

Looking for a unique and fun activity for your group of 10 or more? The Centene Community Ice Center is the perfect place to bring your group to experience ice skating. Groups of 10 or more can even receive a discount. Yes! Can my organization use a Public Skate as a fundraiser? From Holiday Parties to weddings we would love to host your event. Host your event at the Centene Community Ice Center!

In honor of the opening of the Centene Community Ice Center, make a donation of $100 or more and we'll install a commemorative brick in your honor - or to honor your favorite hockey player, ice skater, or your whole hockey family. There is also an option for a larger "paver" - for donors contributing $225 or more. At 8x8 inches, pavers are a great way to accommodate more names or mark a special occasion.
