Centennial Lakes Park has 10 acres of ice in a picturesque setting. Skating is free if you bring your own skates; rentals are available during rental hours. Hughes Pavilion at the park’s main entrance serves as a warming house, offers concessions and has restrooms.

Operating Schedule

The outdoor skating season at neighborhood parks is scheduled to run through Feb. 16, weather permitting.

  • Season Dates: December 20 to February 16 (weather permitting).
  • Holiday Closure: Closed Dec. 25.

Hockey Rinks

Hockey rinks are available for public use Friday through Sunday during the rink season on a first-come, first-serve basis. Note that hockey rink schedules Monday through Thursday are affected by Edina Hockey Association practices and Saturday mornings by Adult Hockey League.

Rink Closures

During the skating season, rinks close under the following conditions:

  • Extreme Cold: When the temperature is minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, or the wind chill is minus 15 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.
  • Unstable Ice: If the ice is unsuitable for skating due to weather conditions.

Closures will be posted on the city website.
